Case 1 - Distorsion

The Giotto Tomo reconstructed 3D images are clearly showing the advantages for structural noise removal increasing lesion conspicuity. The benefit of the iterative reconstruction method resulting in an excellent masses and distortion visualization with an overall feel more similar to standard mammograms.

 


 

Case 2 - Microcalcifications

  The X-ray source is stationary during the exposure (Step & Shoot movement) resulting in a drastically increase the sharpness of microcalcification images. It also improves the modulation transfer function (MTF) compared with the continuous X-ray tube motion systems.

 


 

Case 3  - Microcalcifications

 Using the native pixel size instead a combination of them (binning),  the system is preserving the spatial resolution and  therefore the microcalcification visualization.

Giotto Tomo optimized the number of projection and the scan angle in order to increase the Signal to Noise Ratio and the image quality. The result is a simplified lesion characterization and detection.
